Cultivation Performance: Prefers sun (5-6h direct sunlight daily), tolerates partial shade. Extremely cold hardy. Prefers loose, fertile, well-drained slightly acidic to alkaline soil (pH 5.5-7.5), adaptable to various soil types like loam and sandy soil. Avoid heavy, compacted soil.
Henry Bockstoce peony takes “rich deep red color, large double-flowered form, and strong cold hardiness” as its core advantages, becoming a benchmark variety among early to mid-season peonies.
