Description

Variety Origin: Moonrise is a herbaceous hybrid peony (Paeonia albiflora x lobata F₂), bred by legendary American breeder Arthur Percy Saunders and officially introduced in 1949.

Core Characteristics: Petals are thick and glossy, with a warm, smooth touch and a light, elegant fragrance. Abundant side shoots can extend the flowering period. Flower quantity is moderate but highly ornamental.

Cultivation Performance: Extremely strong cold hardiness. Prefers full sun to partial shade environments. Thrives in fertile, loose, well-drained neutral to slightly acidic loam. Avoid heavy clay and waterlogging.

Moonrise peony takes “20cm single large flowers, the distinctive ‘white petals with golden center’ form, vigorous plant habit, and breeding value” as its core advantages. Suitable for solitary planting in home gardens or group planting in flower beds. Its elegant form and transport tolerance also make it excellent cut flower material, an “all-around” peony balancing garden appeal, breeding heritage, and practical value.
