Description

Variety Origin: It is a herbaceous hybrid peony variety bred by breeder Don Hollingsworth from Missouri, USA. It was first propagated before 1990 and officially registered in 2010.

Core Characteristics: Petals are slightly cup-shaped and curve inward, presenting a neat and exquisite form. The flower color is light yellow, with pinkish flares at the petal base, though the flares are usually inconspicuous. Most stems bear a single flower. Some flowers may have a few stamens and small carpels; the carpels are creamy and sparsely covered with fine hairs. The plant habit is spreading and stable.

Cultivation Performance: A clear drawback is that the flower buds are susceptible to late frost damage. In the mid-continental climate of the central USA, they suffer frost damage in most seasons, making them more suitable for regions without strong cold fronts during spring warming. Prefers the loose, well-drained soil typical for peonies. Water following the “soak and dry” principle, avoiding root waterlogging. Performs well as a quality cut flower with good post-harvest vase life, suitable for floral applications.

Blonde Vision is a distinctive double yellow herbaceous hybrid peony. It possesses high ornamental value, suitable for landscape planting and cut flower applications. However, its flower buds’ weak resistance to late frost makes it better suited for cultivation in climates with stable, warm conditions.
