Description

Variety Origin: Bred by Margaret McCrae, a breeder from Walla Walla, Washington, USA, and named after her hometown (number McCrae #27). The seed parent is ‘Lake o’ Silver’. It was registered with the APS in 2014 and received a Certificate of Merit.

Core Characteristics: Flowers have layered, full petals with an elegant appearance. Each stem averages 3 flowers, presenting a neat and highly ornamental display.

Cultivation Performance: Cold hardy to -40°C, drought tolerant. Prefers well-drained sandy soil (pH 6.5-7.5), with full sun being optimal. Cultivation points: plant in September-October, apply compound fertilizer in spring and autumn, deadhead after flowering, and provide winter protection.

Walla Walla peony combines high beauty, strong adaptability, and practicality, making it a classic variety for garden display and cut flower production.
