Description

Variety Origin: The Ann Cousins peony was bred and registered by a British breeder, derived from a cross between classical European peonies and hardy Asian varieties. Recognized by the International Peony Society, it is a classic variety for European garden ornamentation.
Key Characteristics: The outer petals of the Ann Cousins peony are gracefully spread and rounded, while the central stamens are transformed into thread-like petaloids, arranged in a balanced and well-spaced manner. The petals have a warm, lustrous texture, creating rich visual depth.
Cultivation Performance: Prefers loose, fertile, well-drained humus-rich or light loam soil (pH 6.2–7.3). Buds begin to sprout from late March to early April in spring, with new shoots showing steady growth.
The Ann Cousins peony is a classic variety that combines ornamental appeal with ease of cultivation. Its core strengths lie in its unique anemone-form flower structure, reliable growth habit, and wide adaptability.
