Description

Variety Origin: Itoh hybrid peonies originated in 1948 when Japanese horticulturist Toichi Itoh successfully created the first intersectional hybrids by crossing the Japanese peony cultivar ‘Kakoden’ as the seed parent with the tree peony hybrid ‘Golden Era’ as the pollen parent. Sonoma Yedo was bred by Irene Tolomeo in 2010.

Core Characteristics: Petals are ivory-white on the edges, ruffled, with a red center, overall presenting a yellow coloration.

Cultivation Performance: Itoh hybrid peonies generally possess strong adaptability and cold hardiness. They typically grow vigorously with good division ability and overall good disease resistance. Under suitable cultivation conditions, Sonoma Yedo is also not easily affected by pests and diseases.

Sonoma Yedo is an Itoh hybrid peony with unique charm.
