Variety Origin: This variety is a herbaceous hybrid peony bred by renowned American peony breeder Carl G. Klehm. It was registered and officially promoted in 1984, and is one of the highly ornamental peony varieties introduced in the late 20th century.
Core Characteristics: Petals are layered and thick. The central petals are slightly shorter and compact, giving the overall flower form a rose-like appearance with high ornamental value. Stems are thick, upright, and strong, not prone to lodging. Leaves are thick with a neat shape, maintaining bright color throughout the growing season, complementing the showy flowers.
Cultivation Performance: Excellent cold hardiness, tolerating -25°C, suitable for outdoor planting in most northern regions and cool southern areas of China. Prefers full sun environments; insufficient light can lead to reduced flowering and paler colors. Not demanding regarding soil type, but prefers loose, fertile, well-drained slightly acidic to neutral soil. Suitable for autumn planting. Water following the “soak and dry” principle in daily care, avoiding root rot from waterlogging.
