Description

Variety Origin: Henry Sass is a classic American milky-white flowered peony variety, successfully bred by breeder H.P. Sass and the Interstate team in Nebraska, USA in 1949. It has wide adaptability and lasting reputation.

Core Characteristics: Petals are arranged neatly and fully, with a delicate, silky texture. They are slightly tinged with light pink when first opening, becoming pure snow-white when fully open. The flower form is exquisite without any coarseness.

Cultivation Performance: A typical sun-loving variety, requiring 6+ hours of direct sunlight daily, tolerates light partial shade. Extremely cold hardy. Prefers loose, fertile, well-drained slightly acidic to neutral soil, adaptable to various soil types like loam and light clay. Avoid heavy, compacted soil.

Henry Sass peony takes “pure white double flowers, strong unsupported stems, and strong cold hardiness” as its core advantages, becoming a benchmark variety among mid to late-season white peonies.
