Description

Variety Origin: Nancy Nicholls peony is a classic herbaceous peony (Paeonia lactiflora), bred by American breeder Arthur Percy Saunders. It received the American Peony Society (APS) Silver Medal in 1944, becoming a traditional renowned variety with both garden application and cut flower value.

Core Characteristics: The petals of Nancy Nicholls are thick, soft, and moist, with a velvety delicate touch. They emit a rich fragrance. The flower stems are thick and strong with concentrated blooming, offering extremely high ornamental value.

Cultivation Performance: Extremely strong cold hardiness. Prefers full sun environments. Prefers loose, fertile, well-drained neutral to slightly alkaline loam. Avoid heavy clay, waterlogged, or saline-alkaline soil.

Nancy Nicholls peony takes “large double flowers, rich fragrance, and vigorous plant habit” as its core advantages. It is widely adaptable and easy to maintain. Suitable for solitary planting in home gardens and group planting in flower beds. Its full flower form, long bloom period, and strong transport tolerance also make it a popular variety in the high-end cut flower market.
