Variety Origin: An Itoh hybrid peony (Intersectional Peony) bred by American breeder Don Hollingsworth, registered and released in 1998.
Core Characteristics: Petals are creamy apricot-pink with purple flares at the base, gradually lightening to pale pink as they open.
Cultivation Performance: Prefers full sun to partial shade; ample sunlight results in more saturated color and sturdier stems. Suited for loose, fertile, well-drained, neutral to slightly alkaline soil. Cold hardy, can overwinter safely outdoors in temperate regions; most northern areas require no additional winter protection. Possesses high tolerance to black spot and powdery mildew.
Oochigeas is a classic Itoh peony with unique color and abundant blooms.
