Variety Origin: Chief Black Hawk is a high-quality Itoh hybrid peony collaboratively bred by Wisconsin-based breeders R.F. Anderson and T. Kornder. It was officially registered with the American Peony Society (APS) in 2008, number 2008-347:019.
Core Characteristics: Outer petals number 6-8 whorls, inner petals are slightly smaller, totaling approximately 30-40 petals. They have a thick texture with slightly ruffled edges. The surface is covered with fine hairs, presenting a velvety texture and silky luster.
Cultivation Performance: Prefers fertile, well-drained, neutral to slightly acidic soil. Avoid waterlogging.
