Variety Origin: An Itoh hybrid peony (Intersectional Peony) bred by French breeder Thierry Rat. Hybridized in 2007, first flowered in 2012.
Core Characteristics: Foliage is dark green and glossy, remaining ornamental into autumn. Petals are light pink with a lilac-purple tint, featuring a raspberry-red gradient at the base surrounding golden-yellow stamens. The gradient coloration creates a distinct visual layering with the golden center.
Cultivation Performance: Prefers full sun to partial shade; ample sunlight ensures saturated color and an upright plant habit. Suited for loose, fertile, well-drained, neutral to slightly alkaline soil. Avoid waterlogging to prevent root rot. Cold hardy, can overwinter safely outdoors in temperate regions; most northern areas require no additional winter protection. Division is best done in autumn. Avoid continuous cropping to prevent soil-borne diseases.
Pastel Lilas is a classic Itoh peony with soft tones and a stunning color gradient.
